BE AWARE! Got this from my CIC-1 safety rep this morning and thought it needed to be passed along.

Wildlife. A PTLA security guard at S Site reported that about five mountain lions have been spotted around the HE area at S Site, http://nis-www.lanl.gov/cgi-bin/wthi?ta=16. The mountain lions are breeding now, so if you run, cycle, or walk out there, travel in pairs. A mother bear and her cubs have also been spotted recently at Q Site, http://nis-www.lanl.gov/cgi-bin/wthi?ta=14.

Safety tips about bears are at http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/prk/explore/misc/bears/bearsaf.htm and about mountain lions at http://www2.ucsc.edu/police/liondoc1.html.

Good Morning Everyone,

I just received a call that a large mountain lion was spotted at TA-16 between buildings 430 and 460. Please be alert and very careful with the wildlife that we are so fortunate to share our space with.

Thanks, ...
